RESIDENTIAL

Children and teens admitted to our Residential Program have experienced trauma, abuse, severe neglect, and are diagnosed with a serious mental illness. Children and teens ages 9 to 18 reside in five dormitories each with a common area and bathroom. Dorms have air conditioning and heating. Round the clock staffing (including awake staff overnight) ensure the safety and health of clients. Children attend our accredited on-site school, The Bansbach Academy.

Each client is assigned a therapist and receives weekly individual, family (when appropriate), group, occupational therapy, and experiential therapy (art, music, equine, animal assisted, yoga, and/or ropes course). The clinical team includes a psychiatrist who continually assesses clients and prescribes medications if necessary. A clinical psychologist provides clinical support, guidance and oversight to the therapeutic team.

Organic, whole grain and nutritious meals are served in the Tenenbaum Cafe. Snacks, including fresh fruit, are available. Days are highly structured with clear expectations and daily behavior contracts with each client. Clients can work toward rewards and special privileges. After school and weekend enrichment activities including outings, sports (basketball, soccer, volleyball, kickball), games, fitness, creative arts, and free play to help kids be kids!
