Terry Stiven, MA, LPC, Admissions Director (720-881-3308)
Terry Stiven, MA, LPC (Masters in Counseling Psychology, Graduate program at Lesley College, 1993) Ms. Stiven has been in the field working with children, adolescents and families for over 20 years. She came to Denver Children's Home in 1993 as a Day Time Coordinator. Ms. Stiven became the Admissions Director in 1995. Her oversight includes admissions to the program and experiential therapies. Ms. Stiven has been at the home for 15 years.
Jerry Yager, Psy.D., Executive Director
Jerry Yager, Psy,D. (Nova University, 1986) Dr. Yager is Executive Director of the Denver Children's Home and a ChildTrauma Fellow. He came to Denver Children's Home as a Treatment Leader. After four years he became the Director of the Residential Treatment Program and has served as Executive Director for the past five years. Dr. Yager also serves as a Clinical Consultant at the Denver Children’s Advocacy Center, a Clinical trainer at the Kempe Children's Center, serves as Vice President of the Colorado Association of Families and Children’s Agencies (CAFCA) and is a member of the governors Child Care licensing Advisory Committee and the HB 1084 Redesign committee. Dr. Yager has been educating our community and other organizations on the trauma-informed treatment of victims of abuse, neglect, and violence. Dr. Yager has been with Denver Children’s Home for 21 years.
Mark Stone, MD, Medical Director
Mark Stone, M.D. (University of Colorado, School of Medicine, 1980) Dr. Stone began his career at Denver Children's Home in 1985 as a psychiatric consultant and became Medical Director in 1987. He is part of the administrative team and consults to the Residential, Day Treatment, Discovery Home programs, and the DCH medical office. Dr. Stone coordinates a team of 3 other psychiatric consultants at DCH. Dr. Stone is a diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and maintains a private practice treating adults and adolescents.
Patty Rivers, C.P.A., Finance Director
Patty Rivers, CPA (University of Alaska, Anchorage School of Business, 1993) Ms. Rivers is a licensed CPA and joined the DCH staff as Finance Director in September 2007. She has experience as an auditor and tax accountant with KPMG, as the Finance Director for Alaska Children’s Services, a residential treatment center for adolescents and youth in Anchorage, and as the Chief Financial Officer for the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium in Juneau, Alaska.
Shannon Lowe, Development Director
Shannon Lowe joined the DCH staff in March 2007. For over 8 years, she has dedicated her time, talent, and leadership to the nonprofit sector in many capacities. Her spark for fundraising began in Iowa for Youth and Shelter Services, AIDS Project and Iowa Hospice Organization, to California for the American Red Cross, and to Colorado for HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties and finally Denver Children’s Home.
